Flo's Response to the FTC Settlement (updated)

In January 2021, Flo settled with FTC. This agreement with the FTC was not an admission of any wrongdoing. Rather, it was a settlement to avoid the time and expense of litigation and enables us to decisively put this matter behind us.

The agreement obliged Flo to undertake an independent privacy audit. In March 2022, Flo successfully completed it. Independent auditors did not identify any material gaps or weaknesses in Flo’s privacy practices and found that Flo’s own practices are consistent with its publicly stated Privacy Policy.

The auditors further specified:

  • Data privacy and security are heavily emphasized at Flo as being at the core of their operations.
  • From both a governance and operational perspective, Flo was able to demonstrate a commitment to the privacy and security of its users’ data and has devoted appropriate resources and personnel to ensuring it maintains those commitments.

At Flo we understand that our users place trust in our technology to keep their sensitive information private, and the responsibility we have to provide a safe and secure platform for them to use. That’s why it is our policy to provide security measures designed to protect individual user data and privacy rights. We are transparent about our data practices and adhere strictly to all applicable regulations.

Our highest priority is protecting our users’ data which is why we have cooperated fully throughout the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) review of our privacy policy and procedures. We remain committed to ensuring the utmost privacy and care for our users and women’s health data. You are welcome to read our Privacy Portal, which gives more detailed info on our data protection policies.
