Flo launches prosocial initiative to improve health literacy around the world

At Flo we believe that knowledge is power, especially when it comes to your health. We’re on a mission to improve the menstrual health literacy of as many as 400 million women and people who menstruate. That’s why, with your support we’re offering Flo Premium for free in 58 countries, starting with 21 countries where the need for health education is greatest.

Numerous studies show that health literacy directly influences health outcomes. That means when people don’t have a good understanding of their health, it can often lead to poor overall health and well-being for women, girls, and people who menstruate. Research also pinpoints the countries where menstrual health education is most lacking. For instance, only 18% of girls in Malawi, 32% in Bangladesh, and 66% in Egypt were aware of menstruation before their first period.

Building a better future for female health starts by building a smarter future — one where we all know our bodies better. And together, we believe that we can improve health literacy for people across the globe.
