Consider Flo’s Secret Chats your must-visit new community. Currently available in English and Portuguese, it’s a moderated chat space in the Flo app where you can talk with other Flo members about the things that matter to you.
All you need to do is sign up to the Flo app, get your randomly assigned avatar. Secret Chats is anonymous, so you don’t need a photo of yourself. And then you can start chatting.

Is Secret Chats safe?
Along with using anonymous avatars and pre-moderation of topics and comments, there are several other ways we keep you safe when you’re using Secret Chats:
Age-restricting chats
To use Flo, you must be over the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union, United Kingdom, and Canada), but not all threads and chats will be available to all members. Your Secret Chats feed is personalized based on your age and goal in the app, so you can get the most out of it and see what’s most useful to you fast. If you’re under 18, then the topics and groups that you’ll see will be slightly different from those available to adults.
Blocking topics and notifications
Alongside favoriting certain topics so you see similar threads and questions, you can also block topics and threads. This means that you don’t have to see content on subjects that you don’t want to.
You can also block notifications from Secret Chats if you no longer want to be alerted when someone replies to your comments or writes a comment in a thread that you started. Find out how to do this in our Help Center.
Frequently asked questions
Secret Chats is available to all users who have an English or Portuguese language account. Some comments or topics are age-restricted, with users over 18 having full access to all discussions. The content you will see is based on the age set when you created your account and what you said your goal was.
If you’d like to explore Secret Chats, all you need to do is:
- Open your Flo app.
- Click on the mask icon along the bottom of your screen (it’s third from the left, in the center of your screen).
- Find a topic you’re interested in either by:
. Using the search bar along the top of the screen
. Scrolling through popular questions on your home screen
. Clicking through to saved threads using the “saved” button along the top of your screen
. Using the interests toggle to explore something new.
- To add a comment on an existing question or thread, select the question you’d like to contribute to and write in the comments box. You can also ‘heart’ a question or save a thread using the bookmark icon.
