Flo Health Revolutionizes Pleasure Education: New 'Unlock Your Orgasm' Program Prioritizes Women's Sexual Satisfaction

Flo's research reveals more than half of women are not fully satisfied with the quality of their orgasms, highlighting a startling need for change

London, May 30, 2024Flo, the world's leading women's health app with 65 million global monthly active users, is proud to unveil Unlock Your Orgasm, a groundbreaking program that represents the pinnacle of sexual self-care. Developed by leading sex therapist, Casey Tanner of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT), the program will help users build their personal roadmap for reaching climax. Users will also be able to grow their self-confidence, define their own sexual needs, and learn to communicate their preferences to a partner.

Flo Health aligns with the World Health Organization in their acknowledgment that positive sexual health is fundamental to a woman's overall well-being. Despite advancements in reproductive health, many women still lack access to comprehensive information and support for sexual satisfaction. According to the Guttmacher Institute, only 38 states and the District of Columbia mandate sex education, and just 17 states require the content to be “medically accurate.” A recent Flo survey of 1,500 US women aged 18-55 reinforces this: a quarter of women are dissatisfied with their sex lives.

Flo's Unlock Your Orgasm program aims to bridge the crucial gap in traditional sexual education by empowering women to explore their sexuality and experience the pleasure they deserve without shame. The program offers a comprehensive five-step journey led by sex therapist Casey Tanner, featuring engaging videos, shame-free self-discovery exercises, and fun take-home activities to spark sexual exploration. According to Flo’s recent survey, five key areas of difficulty and frustration in women's sex lives have been further revealed:

Orgasms: More than half (58%) can't say they are fully satisfied with the quality of their orgasms, while 62% can't say they are fully satisfied with the frequency.

Shame and stigma: 1 in 4 (24%) women find sex shameful.

Libido: 46% want to learn more about what turns them on.

Communication: A third (33%) of women want to better communicate what they want to their partner.

Self-pleasure: 7 in 10 (70%) women say they enjoy masturbation and self-pleasure, and yet 17% never set time aside for it.

Casey Tanner, Flo Medical Expert, Certified Sex Therapist, and collaborator on Unlock Your Orgasm, commented: “Unlock Your Orgasm isn’t the standard sex ed course that leaves you feeling awkward or gives you a couple of condoms and sends you on your way. This program represents a paradigm shift in sexual education. By offering personalized support and resources, we take a look at the tools that have been used previously to measure a ‘good sex life’ and replace them with personalized ways of attuning to your sexuality. We're empowering women worldwide to prioritize their sexual wellness and experience fulfillment on their own terms."

Annie O’Leary, Director of Content & Creative at Flo Health, added: “At Flo, we understand how important sexual satisfaction is to our overall well-being. We also understand that sexual pleasure is a deeply personal concept that results from a myriad of mental and physical, even hormonal, factors. The program was created in recognition of all of those things and aims to help people better understand their pleasure challenges and identify holistic solutions. What might their body need that their mind hasn't yet recognized? How might those needs change throughout their cycle? Flo’s Unlock your Orgasm program is uniquely positioned to help people take control of their pleasure to achieve the satisfaction we all deserve.”

Unlock Your Orgasm program is now available to 18+ Flo Premium users on iOS and, soon, Android.
