1. How do predictions work?
Flo gives predictions about your ovulation and fertile days based on your cycle data (all the information you enter into the app, including past periods and symptoms). Fertile days are marked in teal colour. The day that is inside a teal dotted circle is your ovulation day – and it says “high chance of getting pregnant”. Days before ovulation and a couple of days after are those with “a chance to get pregnant” (the app considers various parameters – such as the ability of sperm to live for up to 5 days in a woman’s body, the ability of your egg to live for one day – and it tries to keep the fertile window as wide as possible to include all possibilities). The days that are black (after the ovulation and before the next period) have a low chance of pregnancy.
2. How can Flo help me get pregnant?
If you wish to get pregnant, sex should take place regularly. However, the chance will be higher if you also have sex close to ovulation or during it. In our app, teal days represent your fertile window. This is the time when pregnancy is possible. The day encircled with a teal dotted line indicates your ovulation day. When ovulation begins, you have the highest chance of getting pregnant. Our app calculates the probability of ovulation based on very complicated algorithms. The more cycle data you enter in our app, the more accurate the app’s predictions will be. For better results, you can track your basal body temperature (BBT) or log ovulation test results to help the app recalculate cycle predictions and make them more accurate.
3. How do I log my period?
In order to log the period start date, please tap the red ‘Log Period’ button for the required day on the main screen. Check it and this day and some days after it will be marked as your period.
If you wish to edit your period dates, please tap ‘Calendar’ at the top right corner and tap ‘Edit Period Dates’. Then check the required dates and save.
4. Can Flo tell me when my safe days arrive?
Unfortunately, there are no completely safe days in our cycle. Flo can say whether the chance of getting pregnant is high or low on a particular day, but even a ‘low chance of getting pregnant’ means that the possibility of getting pregnant still exists. The human body is a complex system and each of us is unique. A lot of factors influence your cycle, including sudden hormonal imbalance, illness, medications, over-exercising, diet change, stress, sudden weight gain or loss, and even traveling. And this is why ovulation may shift at any time and there is no 100% guarantee. If you aren’t planning on getting pregnant yet, we'd suggest protected sex only.
5. I can see that it’s possible to track my physical activity and nutrition in Flo. How do I enter this information?
There are 2 ways of getting your step data and distance in Flo: 1) From your device directly, through a built-in pedometer; 2) Through the Health App/Google Fit app, which can take the steps either from your phone or other synced trackers (you can connect Health App/Google Fit in Menu > Settings > The Health App/ Google Fit > Connect and follow the instructions). Nutrition data can only be imported from other trackers via Health/Google Fit (see above).
6. Can I back up my data?
Yes, get registered with Flo (this can be done in Menu > Profile > Continue) and your data will be safely stored on our side. You’ll always be able to restore it if you switch to another device.
7. How can I cancel my subscription to Flo Premium?
If you are using an iOS device, you can cancel the subscription in the standard iOS Settings app. Please open the settings of your device > Tap your name > Tap Subscriptions > Choose Flo > Scroll to the very bottom and tap Cancel subscription.
This must be done 24 hours before the end of a free trial or subscription period so that the subscription doesn’t renew and your account will not be charged.
If you are using an Android device, open the Google Play Store app on your device > Tap Menu > Tap Subscriptions > Choose Flo > Tap Cancel subscription.
This must be done 24 hours before the end of a free trial or subscription period so that the subscription doesn’t renew and your account will not be charged.
If you need extra guidance, please contact us from the app.
8. What if I wish to change my email address or delete my account?
This can be done on our side only, so contact us right from the app and we’ll assist you.
9. I miss certain features in Flo, can I send you my suggestions?
Absolutely! We love to hear from our users and listen to your needs. We are constantly working on improving our app, and carefully review all ideas that arrive. If you miss any features, let us know. So don’t hesitate to get in touch!
10. What is the best way to reach out to you?
The optimal way of contacting us is via the Flo app itself. Just tap “Contact support” from the app’s menu and send us a message. Please leave the rows of symbols in the message body intact – it’ll help us identify your account and provide necessary assistance.
Enjoy!
